All in all, I spent one grumpy, wet, exhausted day walking around the Old Town of Hanoi, Capital; Vietnam.
Yet somewhere between my grump and its chaos, every step I took picked up a little bounce. The mess, the craze, the layers, the history, the technology, the lifestyles — morphed into talkative tangible elements, strewn across every frame I chose — patiently jigsawed into one another, woven like they belong, finding their space and role, adhering to some rules (which seemingly; they construed, they worshiped, they never shared)- forming The City.
Initially, I went a little frantic. To make sense of that noise would require meditative decoding. Then I paused — what was the need?
A lamp post
A window
A wire, a creeper
A hibiscus
A symbol
Some cloth
Some air
A wait
A struggle
A hesitation
A protection
A fear
A hope
A smile
A conversation
A glimpse
A frame
The City
I captured; I let them play their game.
